This family lived in Indonesia before moving to Europe. There they had lived with a porch in front of the house. The semi outdoor space allowed accidental encounters with people from the neighbourhood. They were used walking barefoot through the house on cool natural stone.

Porch

These experiences were redesigned in this bungalow in the forest. A wood clad terrace in the front of the house designed as an outdoor living room for accidental coffee meetings with the people from the neighbourhood. This terrace reminded the family of their porch in Indonesia.

Barefoot

All floors in the rooms are cladded with natural stone and equiped with floor heating. Walking barefoot in the living room brings back memories of living in Indonesia. Walking barefoot with the snow at the other side of the glass facade is a new exciting experience which they love.
